What it does
Glowplant Fruit is the first light source most players find. It emits dim light in every direction, can be thrown down a shaft to judge the drop, and can be applied to a wound as a disinfectant. It is destroyed when used either way.
The medical trade is real: applying a fruit grants 220 seconds of disinfection on the limb, but adds 10 pain, removes 4 muscle health and removes 1 skin health. It also disinfects adjacent limbs for 100 seconds at a cost of 3 muscle health. Use it when you have no proper antiseptic, not as a default.
Effects and usage
- Dim omnidirectional light; throw it to reveal a drop or a path.
- Apply to a limb for 220 seconds of disinfection.
- Application costs +10 pain, −4 muscle health and −1 skin health on that limb.
- Adjacent limbs receive 100 seconds of disinfection and −3 muscle health.

Dropped by Glowplants on the Gravel Lands, Deeper Gravel Lands and most later layers.
This item is found as loot or bought from survivors; it has no crafting recipe in the current demo build. Its value scales with condition, charge or fluid volume, so sell it only after checking the trade value.
Field notes
- Favorite one fruit so you do not accidentally use it in crafting.
- Throw, do not walk, when checking a dark shaft.
- Do not apply it to an already infected limb expecting a cure; it only disinfects.
- The fruit decays in 30 minutes, so swap it out before it rots.
