What it does

The Combat Pen is not a healing item. It is a 144-second performance buff that makes a doomed escape possible. Medical-grade stimulant, epinephrine and oxyline combine to suppress pain, refill stamina, raise consciousness, reoxygenate blood and accelerate attacks.

Because the pen also raises adrenaline and heart rate, it can mask a problem that is still getting worse. Use it to break line of sight, reach a life-pod or finish a fight, then treat the actual wounds before the buff expires.

Effects and usage

  • 144 seconds of medical-grade stimulant: +3 stamina and +3.5 consciousness per second.
  • Raises adrenaline toward 100, increasing movement speed by up to 32%.
  • 90 seconds of epinephrine with a 5% per-second chance to restore a heart in cardiac arrest.
  • 50 seconds of oxyline: reoxygenation, +2.5 stamina per second and reduced fibrillation.

How to get it

Medical crates, life-pods and survivor stock. Not craftable in the demo.

This item is found as loot or bought from survivors; it has no crafting recipe in the current demo build. Its value scales with condition, charge or fluid volume, so sell it only after checking the trade value.

Field notes

  • Save the pen for a lethal fight or a long fall rescue, not routine pain.
  • The stimulant crash removes 10 energy when it expires. Do not start a sleep cycle on a pen buff.
  • It does not stop bleeding or cure infection. Treat those first if you can.
  • The empty pen can be refitted later, so do not discard it automatically.
Data note: values reflect Demo 7.0.1 and the public pre-release build. The full game releases on November 9, 2026 and may change item balance. If you spot a discrepancy, use the sources and corrections page to compare references.
